Grandas de Salime

Today's walk of 20km was to Grandas de Salime.  The weather was stellar, partly cloudy, a slight breeze and temperatures in the 60s.  Most of the walk had us drop hundreds of feet into a lake valley, cross over to the other side on the dam and then walk up the other side a bit into town, which we could see during most of the descent.  Another lovely day!

Hospitales 4

There are three ruins of "hospitales" along the Way which served pilgrims back in the Middle Ages.  They are just outlines in rock now.

Today was sunny and bright and perfect for the 27km trek from Campiello to Berducedo over the Hospitales route.  In 2018 it was pouring rain so this variant was closed.  But it is stunning to ascend the hills and have a full day of panoramic vistas.   So I will have several posts today to share some of the pretty pictures.

Campiello

The stage today was short, only 13km, but beautiful scenery as the Way alternated between forest path and vistas across the landscape.  

Tineo

A gentle 19km walk uphill today from Salas to Tineo.  Overcast skies became fog as the ascent continued.  Thankful the saunter was mostly on country lanes.
