One more
Another lovely day's walk. The sky was overcast until about noon, and then the sun came out. Today was the first day without rain. The Camino followed country paths through the woods for the most part... a couple of villages sprinkled in for good measure. Today's was a quiet, gentle walk into Sigueiro. I am so very thankful for this time to reflect and give thanks for the many blessings.

Fast
The Spanish government certainly didn't waste any time posting warning signs about old pilgrims... :)
Logs
Today was a beautiful day for walking complete with puffy cotton ball clouds. Today's segment was a long 27km to Hospital de Bruma.
I particularly enjoyed the 10km or so through an actively managed Eucalyptus forest. The trees are of various ages and sizes... but all in nice neat rows. Certain patches were ready for planting, others were being harvested. The sweet scent was delightful! Best of all they stacked some up so I could have a bonfire or two.... :))

Camino
On the outskirts of Betanzos one of the churches was actually open. :) I was particularly tickled because it was dedicated to Nuestra Senora del Camino ( Our Lady of the Way). There was a nice shrine to her inside.
The Camino rolled through quiet countryside today. One of the mowing crews was out keeping the path beautiful.

Galician day
The first full day of walking was a delight of Galician weather. Starting out in Ferrol, it was overcast and cool. The first 5km was beside a navy base and a large Spanish shipyard. Starting in Fene until arriving in Vilar do Colo, it poured rain. During lunch in Vilar, the sky cleared and the afternoon walk into Pontedeume was sunny with a nice breeze. Once the sun came out, pictures were easier to snap. The forecast is for similar variety all week long.... gotta love good Celtic variety!

Landed
I am tired after all the traveling, but have arrived safely in Ferrol. A soft misty rain gives a Galician greeting to this pilgrimage. Thankfully there is time for a quick nap before dinner. The walk begins in the morning.... :)

Lines
The lines were crazy long in the terminal. 90 minutes to check in. But all went well. The security machine broke down creating further delays. But they opened a new machine and all went well. And then my favorite sight came at the end of all those lines.... a fine bird ready to fly. :)
